CANTERBURY AUTO-CYCLE CLUB Fixtures September 3—Paper chase. September 9—Social trial.. The paper chase, which was to have been held last Saturday, will now be held on Sunday next. The course will be through the Rolleston district, and intending competitors are asked to assemble at Victoria square at 1.30 p.m. The club has been invited to provide a curtain-raiser to the finish at the Timaru-Christchurch cycle race on September 23, An exciting programme is being arranged, and members desirous of 'participating are asked to notify the various motoncycle shops. PIONEER MOTOR CLUB. ■ Fixtures To-morrow. 2 p.m.—Vice-president’s trial. September 11—Annual dance. To-morrow afternoon’s trial, starting from the clubrooms at 2 p.m., will be of an Interesting nature, over a new variation of a popular route, with a stop for afternoon tea at the Sign of the Bellbird, 'Kennedy’s Bush. The trial is open to both solo and pillioncarrying machines. A special invitation is extended to visitors and new members. Monday week, September 11, will be' the occasion of the club’s annual dance and presentation of prizes for last season, ' CORSAIR MOTOR CLUB Fixtures September 3—Excursion to Lake Mar hinapua. September 10—Opening run. Waters’ Farm, Loburn. September 19—Basketball dance. Owing to wet weather, the run to Loburn last Sunday was postponed, and will now be held on September 10. Latecomers are advised to' go through Rangiora, cross the Ashley, and follow blue and gold streamers to their destination. Competitors are asked to assemble at 282 Moorhouse avenue at 9.30 a.m. and proceed under the control of the club captain. Riders are reminded that any breach of the city or local by-iaws will disqualify them for the day. 100 MLES AN HOUR A.J.S. PERFORMANCE /IN ROAD RACE Cabled advice has been received in New Zealand that Walter Rusk, riding a 500 four-cylinder A.J.S. in the Ulster Grand Brix, won a special award for being the first man to top a British road course at 100 miles an hour.
