PUBLIC NOTICE Is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Waimakariri - Ashley Water-Supply Board, held on Monday, the 7th day of August, 1939, the following resolution to take effect as a Special Order was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Board, to be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, the 4th day of September. 1939,. at the Office of the Board at Cust:— That WHEREAS the consent of the Governor-General in Council as required by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, has. been given to the Waimakariri- Ashley WaterSupply Board raising in New Zealand a loan of One thousand six hundred pounds (New Zealand Gazette Number 4, 26/1/1939, at page 73) ,the terms of repayment of which _ loan were varied by Order in Council dated 19th April, 1939 (New Zealand Gazette, 4/5/1939, at page 1254), in pursuance thereof and in pursuance of “The Water-Supply Act, 1908” “The Local Bodies Lo&ns Act, 1926” "The Local Bodies Loans Board Act, 1926,” and .amendments thereto The Waimakariri-Ashley WaterSupply Board hereby resolves as follows:

1. THAT the Board borrow the sum of One thousand six hundred pounds for the purpose of constructing a concrete syphon at the River Eyre and for necessary work incidental thereto. 2. THAT the said Loan be known as “The Warren Syphon Loan, 1938.” THAT the currency of the said Loan shall be for a period of TEN YEARS at an interest rate not exceeding THREE POUNDS TEN SHILLINGS (£3 10s) per centum per annum. 4. THAT repayment of the said loanr shall be made as follows: (a) By twenty equal payments of £55 19s Id each to be made at the end of every half year, commencing from the date on which the said loan is raised ‘ each such half yearly payment . shall be applied firstly in payment of interest computed at , the rate of Three pounds ten shillings per centum per annum on the amount of principal for the being, outstanding ; at- • r ' the beginning of each half year in respect of the said loan and the balance of such half yearly payment in reduction of such "■ principal. ' (b) By a payment at the end of the tenth year from the date of the raising of the.said loan of Nine hundred and thirty-seven pounds Eight shillings and Three pence (£937 8s 3d). 5. THAT the security for the payment of. the said half yearly payment* ■ of principal and interest and final payment of .principal shall take the form of debentures In conformity with the requirements of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and that such debentures when printed shall be executed sealed and issued. 6. THAT the security for the said loan will be a Special Rate of One- ■ thirty-seventh of a penny in the Pound (£) appropriated and pledged calculated on the capital value of and levied over the whole of the rateable area in the . Waimakariri - Ashley Water-Supply District. 7. IT is not proposed to. pay any of \the first year’s, interest or Sinking Fund out of Loan moneys, DAI?ED at Cust, this 7th day of August, 1939. F. A.
