TAXI FARES
TO THB EDITOa OT TBS' FBXBB. Sir, —I have read with interest an argument through your columns between Mr L. Fox and Mr Trillo, sen., concerning the taxi-drivers of Christchurch, also other vital points about the position of some of the meters; Mr Fox lost no time in challenging the latter and at the same time makes fa bet of £SO with Mr Trillo, who accepts, and also deposits his money with “The Press.” Consequently, several more letters pass betwe_en these two men. Each one seems quite sure of his ground and an officer of the Transport Department is suggested as a judge as to which man is right, and last but hot least, who shall be the lucky winner of the £SO. Now nearly a week has passed and I am anxiously waiting for Mr L. Fox to reply to Mr Trillo and also pay up his money and wait for the results. —Yours, etc., SPORT. August 31, 1939. _*
