The Leader of the Opposition (the Hon. A. Hamilton) was absent from his official. duties yesterday,' suffering from a mild .attack, of influenza-. His place, in the House of Represent*lives was taken by the Rt, Hon. J. G, Coates (Kaipara). The Rt., Hon. G. W. Forbes (Hurunui), who generally deputises for Mr Hamilton when he is away from the House, was out of Wellington. . Commander G. Dennistoun was an arrival from the north by the steamer express yesterday morning. Sir Donald McGavin was a passenger from the north by the steamer express yesterday morning. ■■ Dr. R. A. Shore, Assistant Director-General of Health, who arrived from the north by the steamer express yesterday morning, conferred with officials of the Norlh Canterbury Hospital Board before he left for the south in the evening. ,
