TRANSPORT LAW For a first offence of intoxicated driving a motorist will have his licence cancelled for at least one year, and for any subsequent offence at least three years, under the provisions of the Transport Law Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of- Representatives yesterday. Provision is made for the greater unification of traffic control, and for bringing all taxis and town carriers under the transport licensing system. The Minister for Transport (the Hon. R. Semple) said the bill aimed at providing greater safety for the travelling public.
