AN APPRECIATION
TO THE EDITOR OT THE PRESS. Sir,—On behalf of the Territorial Association of Canterbury, I desire to express public appreciation of the very generous concessions made by your company in the recent publications of impressive illustrated appeals for national service. ■ My association feels that the urgent task of national preparedness has been substantially assisted by the generosity of yourselves and those other companies or persons whose generosity made the publications possible. It is gratifying to know that, although more men of suitable type are still required, the recently increased establishment of 16,000 has now been almost filled. If peace is preserved, no small credit will be due to those who. by working for unity and strength, checked the aggressors and gave the friends and forces of peace a chance to operate.—Yours. H. C. HURST, President, The Territorial Association of Canterbury. August 29, 1939.
