The sound financial position of the National Whippet Racing Association of New Zealand was emphasised, by the president of the association' (Mr G. N. Kemp) at the twelfth annual conference of the association, held in Christchurch recently. ‘The credit balance of £67 Os 6d shows a • considerable. Increase on the previous , year,'’ states the president’s annual report. A further sum of £5 9s had hee® , received since July 1, which made a total credit of £72 9s 6d. ; , The report states that a steady progress has been shown in whippet racing during the year,’the total of affiliated clubs now . being 18. Representatives from 12 amnated clubs attended. the conference. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr G. m. Kerrip; vice-president,-Mr E. Crooke: honorary treasurer, Mr D. Briggs; honorary secretary, Mr J. W. Cooper; committee, Messrs R. Don (Belfast), W. L. Gobbe (Cobden-Grey), W. H. Turner (Dunedin), G. S. A. Biltcliff (Invercargill), E. G. Mus- , son (Ngakawau), G. Nankivell (New Brighton), W. Linton, A. Owen (Pe.tone). M. Barnden (Reefton), J. Morton (Southland), W. A. Jones (Trentham).
