BOYS’ BRIGADE
RESULTS OF INDOOR SPORTS TOURNAMENT
One hundred and fifty boys, representing 11 companies of the Boys’'Brigade in Christchurch, took part in the annual indoor sports tournament organised by the Canterbury Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade on Saturday night. The tournament was held at the Colombo Street Baptist Hall. Particular interest centred on the semifinals and finals of tire push-ball competition. preliminary rounds for which had been played off during the last few weeks. * The results were;—
, Dodge Ball—First round: 9th Christchurch' (Papanui Methodist) beat 4th Christchurch (Spreydon Baptist); Isth Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon (New Brighton Methodist) beat 14th Christchurch (Sydenham Methodist) by default; sth Christchurch (Tennyson Street Congregational) beat 15th Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon (New Brighton Methodist) by default; 10th Christchurch (Rugby Street Methodist) beat 6th Christchurch (Moorhouse Avenue Church of Christ); Ist Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon (Lyttelton street Baptist) beat 13th Christchurch (Addington Methodist); Bth Christchurch (Stanmore Road Methodist) beat 12th Christchurch (St. Ninian’s Presbyterian): Ist Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon (Colombo Street Baptist) beat 7th Christchurch (Papanui Presbyterian) by default. Second round: sth Christchurch beat 15th Christchurch. No. 1 Platoon; Ist Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon, beat 10th Christchurch; Ist Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon, beat Bth Chriscthurch; 9th Christchurch, a bye. Semi-final: sth Christchurch beat 9th Christchurch; Ist Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon, bea* Ist Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon.- Final: Ist Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon, beat sth Christchurch. Tunnel-Ball Relay—First heat: 9th Christchurch 1, sth Christchurch 2. Second heat: Ist Christchurch No. 2 Platoon 1, 13th Christchurch 2. Third heat: Ist Christchurch No. 1 Platoon 1. Bth Christchurch 2. -Final: 13th Christchurch 1. Push-ball—Semi-finals: 10th Christchurch beat Ist Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon; Bth Christchurch beat 13th Christchurch. Final: 10th Christchurch beat Bth Christchurch.
The positions in the premier company competition, of which this tournament forms a part, are y— Ist Christchurch, No. 1 Platoon, 6 points; 10th Christchurch. 6; Ist Christchurch, No. 2 Platoon, 2; 13th Christchurch. 2.
