SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Miss Ratahi Parker, Messrs T. Parker, and B. Hay are guests of Mrs R. L. Wigley (Highfield) for the ball and tiio races. Miss Gladys Copland (Esk Valley) is the guest of Miss Belle Morton (Beverley road) for the Hunt festivities. Mr and Mrs Clifton Robinson (Bankside) will arrive to-day to spend the week-end with Mrs G. H. R, Ulrich (Wai-iti road). Mrs J. O. H. Tripp (Kurow) is staying with her father, Mr R. L. Orbell (Park lane). Mrs John Solomon, who was staying with Mrs D. B. Shand (Selwyn street), has returned to Dunedin. Mrs N. A. Rattray (Waimate) is staying with Mrs E. P. Chapman (Salisbury). Mr and Mrs J. Watson (Gore) are staying with Mrs J. Scott (Cannington). . _ „ Ladies’ night was held at the Bay Tea Rooms, on Thursday, by the Timaru Savage Club, and was largely attended. The induction of Great Chief H. G. Naylor was carried out by former Great Chief G. H. Andrews, after which the following programme was presented:—Orchestra (conductor, Warrior J. G. Yuong) “Washington Post” and “Merry Widow”; recitation. Savage J. Prendergast; violin duet. “Three Little Symphonies,” Savages F. Lewis and R. Mclnnes; song, “Rose of My Heart, former Great Chief A. Wheeler; piano accordion solo, Savage W. Lewis; choir (conductor. Warrior J. G. Young), “Pilgrims Chorus” and “Volga “Boatmen”; violin solo. Savage Max Row--1 lands; play, former Great Chief L. Collins. Scribe B. Baxter, Brave D. Todd, and Savages L. Jackson and J. Prendergast; song, “Where’s the Sergeant?” Warrior J. G. Young: magic. Savage E. Thomas. The accompanist was Savage B. Murphy. SURPRISE PARTY A surprise party paid a visit to the home of Mr and Mrs W. R. O’Fagan (Avonside), where an enjoyable time was spent. Amongst those present were Mr and Mrs P. Femmell. Mr and Mrs C. Heeney, Misses Doris Femmell, Kathleen Doody, Betty Femmell, Doreen Doody, Kathleen Sullivan, N. Bishop, Moriarty, Peggy O’Neil, Betty Doody, Messrs P. Noonan, W. Goll,lM, Doody, G. Glubb, B.
