FROST AT ASHBURTON YESTERDAY
Although frozen water pipes were general at Ashburton yesterday morning, the frost registered at the weather station in the Ashburton Domain was only 10i degrees. For some months the accuracy of the readings obtained by the instrument in its present Position have been disputed, but the Borough Council is waiting permission to move the instrument to a more open spot. Ice was general on open water, and thick white frost covered all lawns in the town. It was considered that the frost was the sharpest experienced at Ashburton this season.
