AKAROA BIBLE CLASS
The Ven. Archdeacon A. J. Petrie presided at the meeting of St. Peter’s Bible Class and Young People’s Club, Akaroa. The archaeological course was continued, and Archdeacon Petrie also showed numerous photographs of discoveries made by archaeologists at Ur of the Chaldees. SOCIAL AT DOMETT The “500” card party and dance held by the Domett Social Club was one of the most successful socials held in the district this season. Cheviot, Tormore, and Ethelton were well represented. Prizes for cards were won by Miss F, Crampton and Mr E. Campbell, and consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs M. Gordon and Mr W. Lowfie. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss D. O’Leary and Mr R. McQueen. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs D. Williams and Mr E. Campbell. Mr A. Partington was master of ceremonies.
