In the first round of the Irish open golf championship, Bruen created a new record of 66, Bobby Locke returned a score of 73, and R. A. Whitcombe 76. Mahon 68, White 69, Kenyon 70. Other scores were:—Arthur Lees 69, Rhodes 72, Daly 72, Branch 73, Graham 74, Faulkner 74, Adams 74, Baillieu 74.
