Jeannette Hartley, Rangiora> sends this extract from a letter from a pen-friend in Malaya. - , “In this country we have two types of houses; some are big and have one storey and one ground
floor. Others are built six feet above the ground, having only one floor. Most of the Malays, liye in this type of house, lor fear of wad animals. The house in which I live has one storey and one ground floor.”
