A GAT AND DOG LIFE
(By Jack McKellar, Kimball) We once had a retriever dog whom we called Ranger. One day I went outside to feed a cat, which was called Tabby. To my surprise I found the eat and the dog were curled round each other as if to keep warm, for it was cold. I called Tabby to give him his milk, but he took no notice. .- .1 walked up to him, but Tabby was not well pleased at my approach—he must have thought I was going to take him away from Ranger. He arched his back, but when he saw I was only giving him milk he forgot to be cross. , About two days after this incident Tabby died, and Ranger put his front paws on Tabby’s grave, and. lay there one night, and thait is where we found him next morning.
