LODGE BALL AT OMIHI
The annual ball of the Loyal Omihi Lodge, M.P., 1.0.0. F., was held in the Omihi Hall, and was most successful. Visitors were present from kindred lodges, and surrounding districts. The hall was effectively decorated with cyclamen shaded streamers arranged as a canopy above the dancers. George Holland’s orchestra (Christchurch) provided the dance music, extras being played by Mrs A; Ferguson and Miss M. Whyte. Messrs E. Whyte, M. Saunders, and A. Ay den were masters of ceremonies. Novelty dances were won by Miss Dorothy Cooper and Mr T. Lee, Miss Eileen Tomlinson and Mr McMillan, Miss Bona Alexander and partner. Amongst those present were Mesdames A. Conway, W. Taylor, M. Waterhouse, M. Peart, E. J. Drake. W. Drake (Cheviot), G. Stevenson, A. Croft. H. Munro, A. Sloss, A. Ferguson, M. Porter (Amberley), C. Smart, Misses Fiona Shier (Amberley), Ella Armstrong (Amberley), Florence Dron, P. Grimwood, M. Whyte, Nancy Stone (Scargill), Eileen Tomlinson (Motunau), Marion McLachlan, Janet Hamilton, Peggy Munro, Edith McMillan, Elsie Harrison (Cheviot), Dorothy Cooper, Mabel Cooper, Dorothy Sloss, Elsie Sloss, Phyllis Symonds, Eileen Dale (Greta), Myra Hitchcock (Scargill), Celine Johnson (Scargill), Jean Lambie, Dorothy Teague, Eunice Ford, Joy Fitzgibbon, Gwen Fitzgibbon, M.
