WRESTLING

COX AND M’CREADY DRAW (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) Wellington; July iv. In a strenuous wrestling bout, "King Kong” Cox drew with Earl McCready tonight. There were no falls. Cox gave a virile and entertaining exhibition, and as McCready injured an elbow in the sixth round he set the pace during a considerable portion of the contest. BLOMFIELD BEATS FORSTER (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN. July 17. A professional wrestling contest held here to-night between Lofty Blomfield and the South African, Frank Forster, resulted in a win on points for Blomfield. Forster took a fall in the second round with a flying scissors and a bodypress, Blomfield equalising in the seventh with a step-over forward toe-hold. Blomfield had all the better of the last round, and the decision was a popular one. The bout was lively and characterised by more than the usual amount of "jungle tactics.” BLOMFIELD V, WOODS TO-MORROW Two of the biggest favourites of Chfis.tchurch wrestling crowds, “Lofty” Blomfleld and ‘‘Jolting” Joe Kopach Woods, will meet in the bout which the local association is staging to-morrow night. The advancement of both of these men in the sport has been helped considerably by their proficiency in the use of the elbow jolt and consequently there will be some thrilling exchanges when they clash in the same ring. Blomfield has the advantage in height and weight, and there is no doubt that when he connects with a jolt considerable damage is done to his opponent. Woods, on the other hand, is very powerfully built, with broad shoulders, and has reduced the jolt to a real science, delivering it with the full weight of his body the same as he used to punch when he was one of the hardest-hitting fighters in the boxing game.
