TRAFFIC ON SHOW DAY

CONFERENCE TO CONSIDER PROBLEMS Interested parties will meet in conference this month to devise a scheme to avoid traffic blocks on People’s Day at the Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show. The conference will be held at the City Council Chamber on July 26, and will be attended by representatives of local bodies and others interested in the show and race traffic. Advice of the conference was received at a meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council last night, when It was reported that it was desired to put the traffic system for the peak days on a better footing. The council appointed the DeputyMayor, Mr R. G. Malcolmson, Cr. W. T. House, and the Town Clerk, Mr R. Sarjeant, as Riccarton’s representative at the conference.
