KIRCHM EVER BEATS MARTINEZ (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 22. Two big wrestlers met at the Town Hall to-night, Rollcnd Kirchmcyor, 6ft Tin tall and list 81b in weight, and Ignacio de Martinez, 6ft 4in and 18st. Kirchmeycr won on points after Martinez had fa ken a tali with a Corrigan body-slam in the fourth round and had yielded to Kirchmeyer's python's clutch in the sixth round. The bout was, willing and for the most part scientific. BLOMEJELD AND DONOVAN DRAM (P*ES9 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, May 22. In a return bout between Blomflcld (Now Zealand) and Donovan (America) in the Town Hall to-night, Donovan secured a fall with a bodypress in the fifth round and Blomtield secured a fall in the eighth round with a body press, the bom ending in a draw. KIRCHMEYER BEATS DONOVAN (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, May 21. Jack Donovan made his first appearance in Auckland on Saturday night, when lie wrestled Rollend Kirchmeycr and was disqualified in the seventh round for what the referee held to bo a deliberate punch. Kirchmeyer had previously obtained a submission fall in the third round with the application of a python clutch. Donovan secured a fall in the sixth round when, after a succession of jolts, he picked up his opponent and twice slammed him to the mat before completing with a body press. SEASON TO OPEN TO-MORROW The Canterbury Wrestling Association reports that there have been exceptionally heavy bookings for to-mor-row night’s contest between Blomfield and Martinez —the first match of the local season. Apart from the fact that Blomfleld is always popular with local enthusiasts, he is on this occasion matched with a man who can be relied on to extend him to the utmost. Martinez, who was born in Barcelona 26 years ago, weighs 17J stone and is 6ft 4in high. He won the Latin championship when he beat Vincent Lopez last year.
