SHIRLEY METHODIST CHURCH *

The seventy-first anniversary of the Shirley Methodist Church was celebrated on Sunday. The Rev. H. L. Fiebig was the preacher at the morning service, and the Rev. John K. Watson was the preacher in the evening. Special music was given by the choir at both services, the following anthems being sung; "Lord, We Pray Thee” (Bennett), “Thine, O Lord, is the Greatness” (Kent), “The Lord is Loving Unto Every Man” (Garrett), and “God is a Spirit" (Stemdale-Bennett). The solo. “Angels Ever Bright and Fair” (Handel) was sung by Miss J. Palk, The celebrations will conclude with a social evening on Thursday, when the annual report and balance-sheet will be presented.
