A few ifs in to but weather mostly fair to fine. Temperatures cool with some frosts. Seas slight to moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate westerly to gbuth-westeny winds predominating. Weather mainly fair, but with occasional passing showers. Temperatures cool. Seas moderate. DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is:— Weather rather changeable, with ' showers at times in many districts, hut more especially those with a westerly aspect, and conditions for the most part fair. Moderate day hut cold night temperatures with some frosts. The recent depression ’ is moving off the Dominion, but a slight secondary one is passing in the south. An anti-cyclone covers . south-eastern Australia. Winds —Rather variable with west to south predominating, light to moderate mainly, but freshening at times in • some exposed positions. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough to rough about Foveaux Strait. Elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to fresh south-west to south-east winds. Moderate to rather rough seas. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Qhristchurch yesterday was fine and warm, the sun shining brightly throughout the day. There Was a very light south-westerly wind in the morning, which later in the day changed to the north-east. The maximum temperature was 55.2 degrees! At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear, and there was a light north-easterly wind. The temperature was 45 degrees, and the barometer, at 29.82 inches, was falling. Dunedin—Bright and sunny conditions were experienced in Dunedin yesterday, the absence of wind contributing to mild temperatures during the greater part of the day.
