ANNUAL REUNION OF FORMER STUDENTS Former students of the Christchurch Teachers’ Training College celebrated their annual reunion in the form of a conversazione held at the college yesterday. -The women’s common room was tastefully decorated for the occasion, Mr F. C. Brew, in the absence of the president, Mr W. J. Cartwright, presided and extended a welcome to former students, who had gathered from various parts of the Dominion. The annual report, presented by the secretary, Mr S. R. Knapp, referred to the success of the annual field day, when past and present students met in sports contests. The finances of the association were shown to be in a sound position, with a credit balance of £4 13s 2d in the general account and £8 19s 9d in the relief fund account , The election' of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr W. A. Banks; president, Mr F. C. Brew; vice-presidents, Miss A. F. Ironside, Messrs W. J. Cartwright, J. G. Poison, J. E. Purchase, C. T. Aschman, W. A. Service, and J. A Masterton; secretary-treasurer, Mr S. R. Knapp; executive committee, Mesdames H. Escott and L. Bean, Miss Hammond, Messrs E. Lunn, D. Kelman, C. L. Martin, and L. Bean. Appreciative reference was made to the activities of the Former Students' Drama Club, which had now been in existence for 10 years. . The meeting passed a vote of congratulation to three past and present members of the college staff who had been awarded Carnegie travelling senolarships—Dr. G. Jobberns, Messrs L. W. McCaskill and A. J. Campbell. Afternoon tea was served by the women’s committee, under the direction of Mrs L. Bean.
