HOCKEY DEFINITIONS As the season is now under way, Tim and Ru offer a few Hockey Definitions hot from our office typewriter for the edification and enlightenment of the uninitiated. “Team” Any school, bunch, outfit, soiree or foregathering. “Roll In” What the “Team” doe* after a game of Hockey. "Goal”— The rendezvous where the “Team” “Rolls In” to congregate. The rules say that a “Goal” should consist of two perpendicular posts four yards apart and joined by a horizontal cross bar. “Goal Boards” shall be placed at the foot of the goal. We always call them Brass Rails. “Striking Circle” What the “Team” does when they “Roll In” to die “Goal.” Sometimes known as “Selling a Horae, Auctioning a pony, or What about a Bob In.” “Sticks” What happens to die money in Hecltaps-Smith’s pocket. “Bully” Americaneic for Good. Tn “Bully” a ball, a player of each team “taps” the other’s stick three times. Ned time you “tap” the house. “Scoop Stroke” Major Burr- Cantiefr tactics with the Counter Ijmcfa. Note: Rule 9 (G) says that **a player shall not obstruct by running in between an opponent. Nor shall be interpose hirrtwg —nor attack an opponent. There shall be no charging, tripping, shoving nor holding his opponent back with ms suck” —• Anyway there's some more coroster htsadkoß the way so why worry.
