GOLF SEASON OPENED The ♦ opening of the season of the Charteris Bay .Golf Club, which took place yesterday, attracted a record number of visiting golfers in addition to a large attendance of members. Mr* R. Crawford (club' 1 captain) welcomed the visitors and members, and the. president (Mr R. Orton Bradley) declared the season open, and drove the first ball. An open "Canadian foursome ,was played, the best cards being:—A, Benzie and R. Scott, 82, 12—70: R. Candy and Mrs Candy, 01. 10—72; T.'Mason and R. Erwin, 88, 15—73. . j . , . Women’s competitions resulted as follows:—Drive, Miss G. Williams 1. Miss C. Williams 2;. approach putt. Miss E. Lancaster and Mrs •B, J. Graham (equal) 1. The men’s competitions were postponed. . • ■ ■
