FLAXBOURNE SHOW

GOOD STOCK DISPLAY AT

WARD

SHEEP, CATTLE, AND HORSE

CLASSES

[THE PRESS Special Service.)

■ BLENHEIM, April 2,

The seventeenth annual show of the Flaxbourne Agricultural and Pastoral Association was conducted in glorious weather on the spacious domain ground at Ward on Saturday. In every way the show was an outstanding success, a reward for hard and sound’ organising extending over many weeks. In some ways the show was held under real difficulties, for the district, In comrrfon with the remainder of the. province,»is suffering the effects of a severe drought, which has already left its mark on dairying and other live stock. Under the circumstances, therefore, a decline in the usual high standard could be understood, but the show commitee, with the backing of the whole community, rallied admirably and made the exhibition a credit to the district. Entries totalled 1120, compared with 1300 last year. A large crowd of visitors from Blenheim, Kaikoura, and the surrounding districts attended. Results were:— SHEEP F W.
