ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH, LITTLE-RIVER

DIAMOND JUBILEE TO BE CELEBRATED A parishioners’ meeting was held in the Triangle Hall, Little River, to arrange a programme for the diamond jubilee of St. Andrew’s Church, which falls on April 30. The vicar, Mr H. Barnett, presided. It was decided to hold three days’ festivities. Fixtures arranged were:—Saturday, April 29: Picnic and sports in Awa-iti Domain for children. Sunday: Church services, the bishop being asked to preach and also to lay the foundation stone for the new church as a memorial for the work that has been done by parishioners, for years in collecting money for the building of the church. It is not intended to go on with the building at present owing to lack of funds and the high cost of building. On Monday, May 1, there will be a banquet held in the Triangle Hall, and a dance in the Town Hall in the evening.
