land contingent would testify to that. There are more than 40,000 New Zealanders in Australia, so “En Zedder’s” grizzle seems out of place. Perhaps his own nature may have had something to do with the situation. —Yours, etc . G. MACDONALD. March 13, 1939.
TO THI IDITO* OF THI PEESS Sir, —In reply to “Cornstalk’s” letter of even date might I ask him this: If the Australian is as good as or better than the New Zealander, why are 40,000 employed in Sydney? I also wish to inform him that I was working all the time I was in Australia. My remarks were part from own experience and part from observation. My continual employment there does not detract from the fact that New Zealanders are not wanted. They are insulted and abused continually by a people of a lower educational standard. If the New Zealander receives this treatment in Australia, why bring Australians into this beautiful country to pollute the, atmosphere'with their abuse and carryings-on. I, for one, do not want the Aussie, and there are thousands of New Zealanders who think the same. —Yours, etc., KEEP N.Z. FOR EN-ZEDDERS. March 13, 1939.
