FOREIGN TROOPS TO BE WITHDRAWN
VIEW EXPRESSED BY LORD HALIFAX (Received March 10, 8 p.m.) LONDON, March 9. The Foreign \ Secretary (Lord Halifax), in the House of Lords, referring to the assurances regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops j from Spain, said that he believed that these would be honoured. “1 say quite clearly that if the contrary is the case a very serious situation would arise.” MAY NOT STAY IN PARIS REPUBLICAN LEADER’S FATE PARIS, March 9. The Spanish woman Republican leader. Dolores Jbarruri, “la Pasionaria,” arrived this morning. The Government immediately notified her that she would not be allowed to stay in Paris nor in the Seine Department.
