WHAT DOES MR SAVAGE WANT ?
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS Sir, —Mr Savage wants to see New Zealand safely leading a way out of the difficulties which beset the whole world. A difficult task indeed! Since 1928 I have watched the world rushing headlong into difficulties; I have seen a quick changing in all things coming to pass. I have watched the creative force being abused—millions of gold being put into base use—such as in buying weapons of destruction —instead of being used to help in the progress of man in a constructive way, such as training our youths to become good and useful citizens and feeding the hungry—and housing the destitute. There is a new order being born into civilisation. And. tlio old order changetti it must change, or the world, toe destroyed. In this changing order, there are born wise men who see further than the others, and they try to lead a country out of the mess it has made for itself. History shows there is _always a fight against any new order. Man fears the unknown because his material mind has lost its guidance. Let us give Mr Savage trust and help, as a leader who, when the old world is destroying its civilisation, would have this little country ushered safely into a new order, which, if the dark forces do not succeed in destroying it, may one day be the hub of a new civilisation. Let us have vision! —Yours, etc., LEONIS. March 9, 1939.
