LORD NUFFIELD IN WELLINGTON

TALK WITH OLD SCHOOL FRIEND DEPARTURE FOR ENGLAND (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON. -March 9. Two former school friends. Lord,Nuffield and Mr Frederick Polly, Wellington, had a chat last night. They were boys together at Cowley College School, Oxford. Mr Polly discovered that his former schoolmaster was still alive and that he corresponded with and still visited Lord Nuffield. Lord Nuffield said he noticed a great improvement in the roads in New Zealand since he was first here 11 years ago. He appreciated that much of it was attributable to the Minister for Public Works (the Hon. R., Semple) Members of Cabinet were described by Lord-Nuffield as "a fine set of chaps.” Lord Nuffield left by the Rangitiki for England.
