ST. CLAIR WINS COMPETITION WITH SUMNER rXHX .PKESS Special Service.! DUNEDIN, March 4. A surf life-saving competition,-between teams from the .St. Clair Surf Llfe-Savinf Club and the Sumner Surf Club, - wa* , held at St. Clair this afternoon, and was won by Sti Clair A team. Sumner and St. Clalf B'were second, equal,' and St. Clair juniors were third. The surf was'heavy, and there was. a strong shore dumper.. The fastest swim was recorded by Reid and Mclndoe, of the - St. Clair B team, and fast times were also ’■ put up by E.‘V. Tose ’(St. Clair A) and N. McPhail (Sumner). Results are:— St. Clair A (H. D. Gillies. E. V. Tose, C. W. Elliott, J. B. Robert. H. R. Callender, and A. G. Beadle). 694 points. 1. Sumner <S. Nicholls. N. McPhail, J, Sutherland, W. Woods. A. Hearn, and C, Johnson), and St.-Clair B (J. Mcindoe, J. G. Held, J. D. Alexander. K. Decide, J. Cranston,... and I. Bogersgp), 65 points (equal) 2.
