EXTENSION OF SERVICES

The Christchurch Presbytery has been considering extending its work in the sphere of hospital services and gaol and hospital visiting. Speaking at this week’s meeting of the Social Service Association, the Rev. James Tennent, who was recently appointed chaplain, said that he had met with the utmost courtesy from the prison and hospital authorities. The work was being supported by the Christchurch and Timaru Associations, and the Christchurch Presbytery. , .

Mr Tennent is a well-known member of the Presbyterian Church, who, since coming to New Zealand from Scotland, has held ministries at Lin wood, New Brighton, St. Albans, Styx, and Morven. South Canterbury.
