MOUNT SOMERS SCHOOL COMMITTEE

At a meeting of the. Mount Somers School Committee, Mr T. Kerr presided. It was reported that a successful excursion had been held to Timaru last week. Arrangements were made to hold a sports afternoon on Saturday week. It was decided to bring under the notice of Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., the urgent need for the erection of a new teacher’s residence, and it was agreed to approach the Mount Somers Domain Board for permission to have the swimming baths filled and used, as the children were at present being taken to th. 9 river for swimming instructions.
