JUNIOR CANTERBURY TOURNAMENT

FINAL GAMES TO BE PLAYED TO-DAY

Good progress was made with the Canterbury Croquet Association's junior tournament yesterday, and the final games will be played to-day.

In the A championship. Mrs Warren (St. James’ Park! plays Mrs McTeague ’(Hornby), and the winner plays H. Fold (United) In the final. In the handicap singles, Mrs Glanville (Barfield) plays Mrs Oldfield (Hornby), and the winner plays Mrs McTeague (Hornby) In the semi-final, the winner to meet Mrs Pargeter (United) In the final. In the ‘ final of the championship doubles, Meadarncs Martyn and Rhodes (Amberley) defeated Mesdames Oldfield and Ward (Hornby), 20-22. This game was evenly contested throughout, and the result was in doubt until the end. In the final of the B championship Mrs Sherman (Cashmere) defeated Mrs Fuller (Hornby). 2f! -20. A good standard of play was maintained throughout the game, both players showing very promising form. Results yesterday were:— A Championship—Fourth round: Mrs Warren beat Mrs Wootton, 26-19; Mrs McTeague heat Mrs Andrews, 26-24) H. Ford beat Mrs Marriott, 26-24. Semi-final: H. Ford beat Mr* Long, 26-15, B Championship—Fourth round i Mr* Roxburgh boat Mrs Hessex- 26-19, Semifinals; Mrs Sherman heat Mrs Roxburgh 26-19: Mrs Fuller heat Mrs Pargeter Final; Mrs Sherman beat Mrs Fuller 26-29,

Championship Doubles—Final; M&dame* Martyn and Rhodes heat Mesdamea ©ldfield and Ward. 26-22, Handicap Singles—Fourth round: Mrs Marriott beat Mrs Middleton. 26-21; Mrs Oldfield heat Mrs Travis, 26-16. Fifth round; H. Ford heat Mr* Parson, 26-19: Mrs pargeter heat Mrs Marriott, 26-24. Semi-final: Mrs Pargeter heat |I, Ford. 26-24.
