Wellington, February 14. The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at 5 p.m., by the Meteorological Office, Wellington and dealing with the 24 hours ing the time of issue, is as follows:
Strong north to • north-west «w£-4ds. Increasing to gales, turning during Wednesday morning to south-west. Boisterous conditions likely. Weather cloudy to overcast, and some rain probable. Temperatures moderate. Seas moderate but rising, especially oil-shore.
WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:—
Strong west to south-west winds to gales. Weather boisterous and changeable, with intermittent rain Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas rough to high.
DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is;—
Mainly fair at first, but rain In the western and southern portions of the South Island, and gradually becoming more widespread. Some heavy falls and possibly local flooding in the far south. Tem. peratures moderate. Pressure Is still relatively W gh to the nort£ but a rapidly deepening westerly depression Is moving on to the southern portion of the South Island.. Over Tasmania barometers are rising.

Aucklund—Conditions were flue and sunny, with a moderate to fresh southerly wind. The maximum temperature was 75 degrees. The barometer was steady with the reading at 3 p.m. 29.98 Inches.
Wellington—The sky became overcast and the wind, which was from the north-west. ..gradually became strong during the day. Temperatures were moderate, the maximum being 64,9 degrees. M t-ho bwmfttfflc reading was 29.696 inches. Dunedin—The sky was overcast yesterday, and after midday a fresh breeze blew from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. The barometer fell very sharply from 29.85 inches at 8 a.m; to 29.3 inches at 5 p.m.
