Sir Harry and Lady Batterbee were guests at a sherry party of the New Zealand group of the Overseas League on January 25. They left for Wellington on February 2 by the Rangitata, with their domestic staff..
Among those present were Mr W. J. Jordan, Colonel E. ff. Lascelles, Viscount Hampden, Mrs. E. S. Harston, and Mrs L. Levien. ,
Because of the unpleasant weather, the attendance was smaller than it would otherwise have been.
Mr Jordan said he hoped that Sir Harry and Lady Batterbee would meet with the same friendship in New Zealand as has been accorded to himself and Mrs Jordan in England—he could not say more. He was glad to say that Lady Batterbee had made a splendid recovery from her illness.
