The part to be taken by the Riccarton Borough Council in contributing to the cost of centennial celebrations in Canterbury was discussed at a meeting last night of the council, but the only decision reached was that the matter be considered by a committee consisting of the Mayor (Mr H. S. S. Kyle, M.P.) and the chairmen of the works, finance, and electricity committees, with power to act. This decision was Thfcdfc on the casting vote of the chairman (Cr. P. George), this vote defeating an amendment that no money would be voted to the cost of the centennial court at Wellington, but that sympathetic consideration would be given to the project to extend the Canterbury Museum as a provincial memorial. , ,
