PRE-WEDDING PARTIES

AMBERLEY BRIDE HONOURED

Mrs S. Frew was hostess at a handkerchief afternoon party, given in honour of her niece, Miss Marjorie Frew, who is to be married this week. The guest of honour received many dainty handkerchiefs. Among those present were Mesdame§ _S. Frew, W. Frew, E. Chamberlain, A. Payne, J. Farquhar, W. Allan, Misses G. Hislop, M. Busch, C. Busch, T. Payne, E. Clark. Miss Frew was also entertained by the members of the Presbyterian Church at the hctne of Miss Jessie McNaught, Amberley. The guest of honour received many useful gifts for her future home. Among those present were Mesdames vV. Frew, W. Briggs, J. Farquhar, A. Payne, A. George, A. Hislop, M. Morrish, the Rev. Mr and Mrs Taylor (Sefton), Mesdames G. A. McLean, R. McAdam, E. Shier, -W. Allan, V. Bennett, and J. Hayes, Misses G. Hislop, J. McNaught, R. McLean, T. Payne, M. Taylor, B. Herriot, and C. Armstrong. A pantry gift party was given at her home by Miss C. Busch in honour of Miss Frew. The afternoon was spent in outdoor competitions, and afternoon tea was served in the lounge. Among those present were Mesdames W. Frew, H. ¥*ir>ch, A. Payne, A. Patterson. , _ The ladies of the Amberley Golf Club spent a pleasant afternoon at the home of Miss IJessie Greisson, Amberley, where a presentation of a crystal salad bowl was made to Miss Frew. Miss Frew was again entertained by Mr and Mrs J. Hayes. Amberley, at a bathroom gift evening party. The guest of honour received many blue gifts for her future home. Mr and Mrs W. Campbell and Miss E. McEwan gave a variety gift evening party at Mrs Campbell’s home in Roker street, Spreydon. in honour of Miss Edith Wootton, who is to be married this week to Mr Noel Turner. Cards, musical items and competitions were enjoyed and many gifts were received.
