CHRISTMAS SHOOT AT RANGIORA

NORTH CANTERBURY GUN CLUB MORE THAN THIRTY TAKE PART More than 30 competitors took part In the North Canterbury Gun Club’s Christmas shoot at the club’s grounds. East Belt, Rangiora, in the week-end. About 60 prizes were presented to winners and placed men in the various matches. Conditions were not ideal, but the standard of the shooting was high, a number of the competitors securing possibles. Each match was of nine clay birds, A. N. Turner being the only competitor to secure 27 hits for the aggregate of the first, second, and third matches.

First Match The first 10 competitors all scored possibles and had to shoot off, the second 10 drawing for places. Details were:— A. N. Turner 1. J. Brightling 2. A. Prestney 3, A. McLeod 4, A. Brightling 5, H. Grinnell 6, J. McHugh 7, D. Hamson 8, F. Brightling 9, W. Quigley 10, I. G. Watkins 11. Donald 12, Bruere 13, D. Davidson 14.

Second Match The first nine again secured possibles, the shoot-off resulting:—A. Cooper 1, Watkins 2, T. Harrison 3, Bruere 4, Turner 5, D. Harrison 6, I. Mawson 7, F. Brightling 8, W. Donald 9, Quigley 10, Ormandy 11, Stephens 12, A. Brightling 13, McLeod 14. Third Match The first four secured possibles and had to shoot off. Results were:—A. McLeod 1, Davidson 2, Dorreen 3, Turner 4, A. Brighting 5, Mawson 6, Anderson 7, Winchester 8, McHugh 9. D. Harrison 10. T. Harrison 11, Quigley 12, Masters 13, Prestney 14.
