RAILWAY DISASTER IN RUMANIA
MORE THAN 100 REPORTED TO BE KILLED
(Received December 26, 8.10 p.m,
BUCHAREST, December 25. One hundred and twenty-five are reported to have been killed and 300 injured in the greatest railway catastrophe in Rumania’s history. A passenger train and a goods train collided at Chisinau, formerly Kishinev, the scene of an extensive pogrom in 1903. The stationmaster has been arrested. Terrific snowstorms which reduced visibility to nothing were responsible for this disaster and for a collision near Cluj in which a fireman and four passengers were killed.
The interruption of communications has delayed the sending of details.
