Severe Gold Britain and the Continent are in the grip of intensely cold weather. London has had the heaviest frost for a decade, Paris registered 14 degrees of frost, Berlin 22 degrees, Moscow 45 degrees, and the Urals 92 degrees. The whole of eastern Jugoslavia is covered with snow. Twenty were frozen to death in the East Ukraine and many are dead in Poland. Shipping was disorganised by a blizzard in the Channel and elsewhere, and the sea water froze as' the wave broke over the vessels, A severe frost put the British Broadcasting Corporation’s London regional station out of action for three and a half hours.
