MALVERN COUNTY AFFAIRS
TO THB EDITOR OT TOT PRESS. Sir, —I hardly expected the answer Mr Townshend gave regarding my question about the council reserve in Qreendale. I can certainly say that more than I are interested in the disappearance of three acres from the tender recently advertised. I understand that the price an acre for the lease is substantial, and this amount spread over the period of the lease, 14 years, means a distinct loss to ratepayers and a considerable saving to the lessees. I can easily assert that the reason for reducing the acreage is not private, for if the chairman is prepared to give information to me in the office, then he should be prepared to supply the information to all through the public press. I trust that the chairman will now be kind enough to answer my very fair question.— Yours, etc., INTERESTED. December 20, 1938.
