INTER-ISLAND SERVICE Three of the Union Company’s vessels brought passengers to Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington and the same three also took passengers from Lyttelton for the north. The Rangatlra arrived at 6.5 a.m. with about 1000 passengers and at 7.30 the island steamer Matua, which had brought down a cargo of bananas, arrived at Lyttelton with between 40 and 50 passengers. Last evening the Wahlne arrived with 600 passengers from Wellington. More than 400 passengers travelled by the Rangatlra. which left Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m. for Wellington, and the Wahine, which sailed last night, took a full complement of nearly 900. The Matua took about 50 passengers also for the north, DURHAM AT AUCKLAND From Liverpool the Durham arrived at Auckland on Wednesday. She will finish her discharging at Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth.
