STEAMER EXPRESS SERVICE

DAYLIGHT TRIPS BEGIN

All the night sailings of the two vessels, Rangatira and Wahine, engaged in the steamer-express service are at present fully booked and extra daylight trips began yesterday. The Rangatira took about 180 passengers from Lyttelton yesterday morning, and the Wahine arrived in the evening from Wellington with more than 300 passengers. Daylight trips will be run to-day and to-morrow, and special night sailings will be made from each port on Sunday. In addition, the Maunganui is to leave Wellington at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday with passengers for Lyttelton.

HOMEWARD LOADINGS

THIRTEEN SHIPS ALLOTTED

The following 13 ships have been allotted to load Homeward at New Zealand ports during January and February:— Port Line The Port Sydney, en route from Newcastle to Tlmaru, will load at Timaru December 22-27, Opua December 28-31, Auckland January 3-7, Waikokopu January 9-11, Napier January 12-14, Lyttelton January 16- and Wellington January 18-21. She will clear Wellington finally on January 21 for London, via Cape Horn. The Port Alma, from Australia, will load at Picton January 4-6, New Plymouth January 3-10, Wellington January 11-16. Gisborne January 18-21, Napier January 23-28. She will sail finally from Napier on January 28 for London, via Cape Horn. The Port Campbell, from Australia, will load at Bluff January 16-19, Timaru January 20-21, Wanganui January 23-February 3, Auckland February 6-10. She will clear Auckland on February 10 for London, via Cape Horn. New Zealand Shipping Company The Orari will load at New Plymouth January 12-13, Wanganui January 14-16, Wellington January 17-21, Auckland January 23-26, Napier January 27-31. Slie will sail finally from Napier on January 31 for London, via Panama and Curacao. The Rimutaka will load at Wellington January 25-28, Napier January 30-February 2, Auckland February 4-9. She will sail finally from Auckland on February 9 for London, via Panama and Curacao. The Tongariro will load at Oamaru January 19-20, Bluff January 23-25, Picton January 28-31, Nelson February 1-3, Auckland February 6-10, Tokomaru Bay February 12-13, and Wellington February 17- She will clear Wellington on February 21 for London and Newcastlc-on-Tyne. via Panama and Curacao. The Norfolk will load at New Plymouth January 3-9, Opua January 11-12, Auckland January 13-21, Wellington January 24-27, and Wanganui January 28-February 2. She will sail finally from Wanganui on February 2 for London, Avonmouth, Cardiff, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The Huntingdon will leave Port Chalmers on January 14, after beglning loading. for BlufT January 16-18. Timaru January 19-20, Auckland January 21-28, Wellington January 30-February 4, Lyttelton February 6-13. She will sail finally from Lyttelton on February 13 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow. Blue Star Line The Napier Star will begin loading at Lyttelton, leaving here for New Plymouth January 16-19, Wellington January 20-26, Gisborne January 28-31, and Auckland February 2-8. She will clear Auckland on February 8 for London and Newcastle-on-Tyne. Shaw Savill Company The Tainui will load at Port Chalmers January 16-18, Lyttelton January 19-21, Napier January 23-24, and Wellington January 2S-February 1. She will clear Wellington on February 1 for Southampton and London, via Panama and Kingston. The Maimoa, from Australia, will load at Wellington January 19-23, Lyttelton January 24-25, Napier January 26-28, and Auckland January 30-Fcbruary 7. She will clear Auckland on February 7 for London and West Coast ports of Britain, via Panama and Kingston. The Walpawa will load at Port Chalmers January 19-21, New Plymouth January 23-26, Wellington January 27-Febru-ary 3, and Lyttelton February 4-11. She will clear Lyttelton on February 11 for London, via Cape Horn and Las Palmas.
