TESTING A LOCOMOTIVE

An unusual sight in the Lyttelton railway yard yesterday afternoon was one of the electric locomotives from the Otira-Arthur's Pass section. The locomotive had been undergoing overhaul at the Addington workshops, and had been painted a bright red colour, the same as the locomotives on ihe Lyttelton line. It is smaller and lighter than are the Lyttelton locomotives.
