SOCIAL AND PERSONAL fiMrandjMrs Hector Scott, who were staying with Mrs A. A. Scott (Bidwill street), have returned to Ealing. Mrs Grierson, who was staying with Mrs D. H. Marshall (Orbell street), has left for Christchufch'. Mr and Mrs Russell Turnbull (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs D. C. Turnbull (Evans street). Miss Knubley, who has been for some weeks in the North Island, is staying with her sister, Mrs W. Raymond. Pleasant Point. Mrs G.. L. Almond, who is to live in New Plymouth, was entertained at a tennis party at the bay courts by Mrs R. D. King, Mrs F. G. M. Raymond, and Mrs R. T. Turnbull.. Afternoon tea was served at Mrs Turnbull's home in Beverley road. Mrs Almond was also entertained at an enjoyable evening by Mrs H. M. Barker at her . home in Bidwill street.. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ADMISSIONS AND PROMOTIONS His Royal Highness the Grand Prior has) approved the issue of the 12 years' service medal and service medal bar for five years' additional service to the following members of the Canterbury and WestlEind District of the St. John Ambulance Brigade:—Lady Ambulance Officer E. E. Lumb, Christchurch Nursing Division; Lady District Superintendent A. L. Bishop, first and second bars. Honours" have included the following:—Admissions and promotions to the' Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem: Promoted to the grade of officer, T. F. S. Rudd, senior district superintendent, Canterbury and Westland district; admitted to the grade of serving brother, J. Dickson, district officer, Canterbury and Westland district, and E. G. Gray, district superintendent, North Canterbury sub-district; admitted to the grade of serving sister, Mrs Marion Cordy, lady district officer, Canterbury and Westland district. The following appointments have been confirmed by St. John's Gate:— Private J. Shannon to be sergeant and district secretary of the Hokitika Division, and Ambulance Sister E. S. Cooke to be lady divisional secretary of the . Hokitika Nursing Division.
