STATE HOUSES AT TEMUKA
♦ READY FOR OCCUPATION IN THREE WEEKS The first State houses in Temuka should be ready for occupation in three weeks at the most, according to the contractor. The outside painting work had been delayed by the wet weather, but there is every possibility that the first house will be ready in two weeks if the weather keeps fine. The houses, which are modern in every way, are situated in Wilkin and Studholme streets. They are installed with electric cooking and water-heat-ing facilities. The walls, which are of fibrous plaster, will be papered. Bedrooms have fittings for electric heaters and living rooms have open fireplaces. The two houses which are being erected by the Borough Council for the foreman and the Town Clerk in Hayhurst street are also nearing completion.
