INTERNATIONAL AIR MAILS
♦ EXHIBITION OF STAMPS AND COVERS DISPLAY TO OPEN IN CITY ON MONDAY The second international exhibition conducted by the Air Mail Society of New Zealand will be held at the Builders* Chambers _in Gloucester street next week, opening on Monday afternoon. Stamps And covers carried on historic air mail journeys will be on display. One of the largest collections has been sent from Australia. It contains 20 volumes. There (is also a collection of all the envelopes carried by competitors in the England-Australia air race, and another of envelopes carried on Pan-American trans-Pacific flights. The Post and Telegraph Department and the air transport companies have co-operated. By arrangement with the Post and Telegraph Department, there will be a special post office at the exhibition. All mail posted there will be cancelled with a special stamp. There will also be a pigeon service from Rangiora to Christchurch. This will be conducted by the Christchurch Premier Pigeon Club, to raise funds for the health stamp campaign. _ _ There will be an exhibition of model aeroplanes.
