V/EST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of Us ssuth Island is:— Moderate but freshening northeast" to northerly winds. Weather fair at first, but clouding over in the southern areas and later rain developing. Temperatures warm. Seas slight to moderate. DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is:— Isolated rains at first in parts of the North Island, but otherwise fair to fine. Gradually clouding ove r to-morrow in the. northern ind far southern districts, and later rain developing. Temperatares warm. An anti-cyclone, covets New Zealand, with its centre east of Cook Strait. A degression is advancing from AustnOU on to the western Tasman Sea, Conditions are disturbed also near Norfolk Island. Winds: North-east to northerly, right to moderate mainly, but freshening especially in the far north, where gales are possible later. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate, but rising north of East Caoe and later about Cook Strait. Eastern Tasman Sea: North-east to northerly winds, strong in the northcm portion, with rather rough to rough seas. Light to moderate, but freshening elsewhere, with slight to moderate but rising seas. CHWSTCHURCH WEATHER The.weather in Christchurch yesterday was fair to cloudy with a fairly strong' north-easterly wind. Cloud increased in the late, afternoon and a steady drizzle set in during the evening. were cool, the maxinjum recorded being 55.8 degrees. At 1 o'clock this morning a light drinle was falling and there was s strong easterly wind. The temperature was 52 degrees and the barometer was steady at 30.35 in. IN OTHER PLACES Auckland—The sky was overcast this morning, but'fine and cloudy conditions were experienced in the aft ®s" noon. There was a moderate northeast wind. The maximum temperature was 75 degrees. At 5 p.m.. the barometer was steady, and read 30.2 inches. Wellington—The weather was fair nd warm, with a light to moderate MsterlyYbreeze. The minimum temperature on Thursday night was 48 degrees, and the maximum yesterday 8.3 degrees. At 3.30 p.m. the temperature was 63.5 degrees and the barometer 30.290 inches. Dunedin—The weather yesterday was Hue, with bright sunshine and a fresh | jifeeze from the north-east.
