H.M.S. WELLINGTON AT LYTTELTON
♦ SLOOP'S FIRST YISIT FOR TWO TEARS On her first visit to Lyttelton for nearly two years the sloop Wellington arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Gisborne. The vessel left Gisborne on Wednesday and made the trip under easy steam./ She will remain in port until .November 14, when she will sail for the West Coast Sounds, thence Pieton, and returning to Auckland at the end of this month. Official calls on Commander G. N. Loriston-Clarke were made yesterday morning by the chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, Mr R. T. McMillan, and the secretary, Mr C H. Clibborn; the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. E. Sutton) and Town Clerk. Mr F. Hobbs, and the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Macfarlane) and the Town Clerk, Mr J. S. Neville. Commander Loriston-Clarke's officers are Lieutenant-Commander B, H. de C. Mellor, Lieutenant H. N. C Willmott, Sub-Lieutenant G. C Crowley, Surgeon-Lieutenant R. Vaughan-Jones, Mr V. D. Hodge, commissioned engineer, and Mr R. Motts, gunner.
