WOMEN'S TEMPERANCE UNION

NEW BRIGHTON BRANCH At the monthly meeting held by the New Brighton branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, members were welcomed by Mrs G. Ellis, and Mrs H. M. Hall led the devotions. Mrs Ellis reported on the final Band of Hope social for the year, which had been most successful. Maori Day was observed by the reading of articles describing work amongst the Maoris and their history. Mrs F. M. Mitchell read a temperance f a ct - * ~ ~ Arrangements were made for a cobweb" social to be held towards the end of this month. Many parcels were received to be sent to the lepers at Makogai. Mesdames H. Inns and H. M. Hall were hostesses at the tea hour.
